Facing feelings

Page 90

"We may fear that being in touch with our feelings will trigger an overwhelming chain reaction of pain and panic."

Basic Text, p. 30

While we were using, many of us were unable or unwilling to feel many emotions. If we were happy, we used to make us happier. If we were angry or depressed, we used to mask those feelings. In continuing this pattern throughout our active addiction, we became so emotionally confused that we weren't sure what normal emotions were anymore.

After being in recovery for some time, we find that the emotions we had suppressed suddenly begin to surface. We may find that we do not know how to identify our feelings. What we may be feeling as rage may only be frustration. What we perceive as suicidal depression may simply be sadness. These are the times when we need to seek the assistance of our sponsor or other members of NA. Going to a meeting and talking about what is happening in our lives can help us to face our feelings instead of running from them in fear.

Just for Today: I will not run from the uncomfortable emotions I may experience. I will use the support of my friends in recovery to help me face my emotions.

This One is for Aunt Kin!!!!!

Baby Pax

Pax is getting sooooooo....ooooo big!!!! Even though I see him almost everyday he seems like he grows an inch everytime I see him. He has begun to try to stand on his own. We think he is going to try to walk before he crawls.
Here is a little song and dance staring Kands and PaxE !!!!

Princess Kendall

Last Friday Ryan and I went with Kristi, Jason, and grandpa to Kendall's Halloween flip party. It was so much fun watching her play on all the slides. She really has no fear what so ever. She runs where she wants to and climbs what ever gets in her way. Here is a video of the first slide she played on.

This was the first slide she attempted but the attempt was interupted by a kid dressed in a skeleton costume with a skeleton mask. Kristi said she started shaking and didn't want to go. After a little convincing and her scoping out the scene to make sure the kid was gone we got her to go on the big slide. It was a hoot watching her run up the slide then quiclky slide down. Ry and I had a blast watching her play!!!!

Kin I can't imagine how hard it is that you have missed these parts of their lives. So I wanted to give you a little snippet of how cute and big they are getting. I know they can't wait for their Aunt Kin to come home and play with them. So hurry up,  learn Spanish and get home already. We are all ready to see your beautiful face !!!!!!!!!
