Facing feelings

While we were using, many of us were unable or unwilling to feel many emotions. If we were happy, we used to make us happier. If we were angry or depressed, we used to mask those feelings. In continuing this pattern throughout our active addiction, we became so emotionally confused that we weren't sure what normal emotions were anymore.

After being in recovery for some time, we find that the emotions we had suppressed suddenly begin to surface. We may find that we do not know how to identify our feelings. What we may be feeling as rage may only be frustration. What we perceive as suicidal depression may simply be sadness. These are the times when we need to seek the assistance of our sponsor or other members of NA. Going to a meeting and talking about what is happening in our lives can help us to face our feelings instead of running from them in fear.

Just for Today: I will not run from the uncomfortable emotions I may experience. I will use the support of my friends in recovery to help me face my emotions.

Fun Foto Friday

I took these pictures with my iPhone so they are a little blurry. A couple nights ago my mom and I were at Kand's helping her with the baby because Regs was working late. It was almost time for his 11:00 PM feeding and I was rocking him I just happened to notice Kandice's priceless hairdo. We were all pretty delirious because Pax had just peed all over me, my mom, the wall, the floor, himself, and his changing table. It was quite the show. But anyhoo I just had to snap a couple of pictures of my mom and Kandice because they were cracking me up. It was a very fun night !!!!

Now I know I brag and talk a lot about my family but its my website so I can do what ever I want to :) My mom is without a doubt an angel sent straight from God. She amazes me every single day with how much love and support she gives every one of us. It doesn't matter if she is sick or tired she pushes herself over and over just so she can be there for us. She has been at Kandice's every day she has needed her, helping her and keeping her company. She always knows what to do in every situation. No matter what crisis I am going through without a question in my mind she is the first person I call for help and advice. And she always always knows what to say or do to make me feel better. I know how blessed I am to have such an amazing woman in my life. I can't wait for the day I get to see her hold and kiss my baby!
